Every quarter we offer the opportunity for clubs to be recognized for all of the wonderful things being done in furtherance of our Vision: Optimist International will be recognized worldwide as the premier volunteer organization that values all children and helps them develop to their full potential. And specifically in implementing our Mission: By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.
This quarter, there is the additional opportunity for members to nominate other members for certain recognition. The Governor's Choice Categories are Bringing Out the Best in the Youth Award; Bringing Out the Best in Our Community Award; Bringing Out the Best in Ourselves Award; Outstanding Member Award; Outstanding District Member Award; Outstanding Rookie Optimist of the Year Award; Club President of the Year Award; Lieutenant Governor of the Year Award; and Best New Club-Project Award. Additionally, Past Governors may nominate people for the following 2 awards: Don Sievers Presidential Award and Ken Monschein Presidential Award.

It would be very helpful if clubs could contact their local middle and high schools personally to let athletic directors and golf coaches know about this opportunity for students.
